The Internet is a Series of Tubes . . . Filled with Cats

Hello, all! I'm a previous communications researcher who, at some point, delved into the interesting world of cultural and societal memes. Due to my fondness for internet memes (all in the name of research!), I've been dubbed a "loltician" by some. 

I have it on pretty good authority (read: ex-Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens and aforementioned memes) that the internet consists of a series of tubes filled with cats. Although, in all seriousness, I think other adorable and/or mean-spirited animals and their antics are starting to make a dent in the cat-pie. 

No, but really, I'm excited to be a part of this class, digging into the origins of the internet together, examining the implications of ubiquitous internet usage, navigating through privacy pitfalls as we relinquish more and more of our personal information, and so much more. Here's to a riveting semester!
