I wanted to introduce myself to you all via the blogosphere.
I'm a double major in theater and media, and one of the most fascinating things to me is how the internet has effected live performance and theater.
There is a company downtown called Lively Productions who had a six month residency performing their piece called the Blogologues. Basically their skits consisted of scripts drawn entirely from found blog materials...check them out: BLOGOLOGUES.
Also, my senior project and a production put up at Hunter (shameless plug) was another example of theater piece deriving all its material from found online content. The Weiner Monologues used transcripts from interviews and op-ed pieces to tell the story of Anthony Weiner on stage.
I know these are a little off-topic but I can't help but think about how the internet has effected all aspects of society, even something as antithetical (seemingly) like Theater, which is about a live ephemeral experience.
Looking forward to class!
The Weiner Monologues! Gods, that made me laugh!
