Joe C. Monday evening Media 260...test post "Hi!"

Howdy Y’all!
I’m Joe Chan in the Monday evening Media 260 class. Here’s my introduction, a slightly longer version in case y’all missed it during the introductions in class Monday evening.
This is my third time doing this Blogging thing, okay, maybe my second because I didn’t write anything when I first created this account “Hong Konian” back in who knows when.  My actual first time blogging was for a MEDP 150 film class and I had to blog about what and how things were doing or coming along in class. I was clueless, so I just wrote and blah, blah, blah.
I choose “Hong Konian” as my username because I hate the term “Hong Konger” or “Hong Kongese.”  Can anyone tell me how I can change my user name without my reading through the entire Blogger tutorial? Thanks.  I really suck at this.
I was born in British Hong Kong (The Blokes gave it back to the mainland Commies back in 1997) and I came to New York City back in 1968.  I came to Hunter College in the fall of 1976 after graduated from Seward Park HS on the Lower East Side.  Back in the days, any student graduated from any NYC high school with a “real” diploma, not a “Good Enough Diploma” (GED) can enroll to any CUNY without taking an SAT.  I chose Hunter because it was close to where I lived, Manhattan Chinatown, and I thought the name was cool at the time.  Oh yeah, back then, Hunter or any of the other CUNYs served beer and wine in their cafeterias and smoking inside was allowed.
Although I was doing well, I felt at the time college life was not for me so I withdrew, not dropped out, and enlisted with the United States Air Force in the fall of 1978.  During my six years in the military service I had the opportunity to live in San Antonio Texas, Biloxi Mississippi, and London England. I also traveled to many places in Europe and other places I can not mention. It was the best six years of my life, the experience I gain was truly amazing, and the people and friends I have met and made during that time are priceless.
In January 2003 I landed a desk jockey 9-5 grinder during the massive business migration and “workforce attrition” (a fuzzy PC term for a sorry-ass excuse for “YOU’RE FIRED!”) in the downtown financial district in lower Manhattan as the result of September 11, 2001. Something tripped my brain during my new job to tell me to go back to school so I contacted Hunter’s registrar via email.  Email was something that was not possible back in 1976 or at least not to the general public anyways.  I got a response before the end of business day to welcome me back to Hunter and I can register for the fall semester. My first class I registered for the 2003 fall semester via telephone voice prompt options was Urban Life.  In the spring of 2009 I had earned enough credits in which I was told I had to declare a Major.  I have decided Media would be my major because I remember how fun it was to be in Professor Stanley’s Film Media class.  I signed up for this class because it’s a required course for my major, the hours are perfect and because I wanted to know more about the internet from a more personal perspective.
I know something about the internet but I know Jack about the people who visit the internet and some of the sites they visit.  I heard a lot of interesting introductions from some very interesting people in class.  I hope I can learn from them and from Professor Herman.  Cheers!   February 4, 2012.
