Hey all, Lee here, guess this is my test post. I'm currently a senior here at Hunter College, I'm a Sociology major with a Media minor. The Internet has always had a big effect on my life, since I was little my family we have always had some form of computer around the house. The original computer we had (and still have on a shelf) was the Macintosh Classic, it was a great computer, the games were amazing, and despite it having a black and white screen you could type and view things very clearly. Eventually we got a 56k connection and my love of the internet began. AOL was a new gateway to news, chat-room's about anything under the sun, and websites about anything you could imagine.
I feel like we take the amount of information we have at our fingertips for granted. When I go away to an area that has no cell reception, and no 3g internet available for my smart phone, I feel some withdrawal symptoms. After they fade I feel liberated, like a weight of knowledge is mine to discover on my own again. Hopefully society will find a happy balance between technology and actually living in a real world (as opposed to a cyber one)
