Political Sites?

Ok, so I read the two chapters in Hindman's book, there are points that agree with in terms of searching for certain political subject matter. The third chapter in Hindman's book is way too technical and statistical that I was ready to give up on reading the whole thing, But it did leave a couple of point to be noted one of them is the notability that political sites have on the internet as a whole. Though they are there, said sites, they are not really pointed out unless it is seen either in a social network or on regular internet search engine link to news like Yahoo or Google. Thus, the specific interest is not stressed as much since most do target that area of specific interest. That is what I do agree with them about in that aspect. The problem I think is that they are talking about favoritism between certain types of subject matter, political or otherwise. I can understand this naturally, but it is not a reason to simply say that certain subject matter cannot be found. I mean, it is the internet is it not, if you want to find out about the midnight ride of Paul Revere you can. And that is no different in wanting to find out the history of the crazy straw.
Chapter 3 does continue to say that there are biases on many political sites and search for political site. I can agree with that, but name a site or sites that do not have certain biases and it is not uncommon to even find certain types of subject matter as well. I understand that the internet is vast and very generalized, since search for any subject matter is keyword based. Thus, making it easy or complicated depending on how one goes about the search for political sites. The point that was annoying, in the chapter, was the both ends we biased on the type of subject matter. Both ends means that the bias come from human bias, based on the content placed, and machine bias, based on the level of importance of a particular subject matter. Overall Chapter 3 was way too technical for me, and it was just difficult to read. All I can say is if you want to look up a political or social subject matter your best bet is to find political news website and social news website. And work you way up from there. Now, let move on to Chapter 4.
Chapter 4 was an interesting read it was fairly straightforward, not trying to get technical, but not trying to give a runaround either. The interesting part about this chapter is the importance of the demographics and the need for them. If that is to say that the importance of them justify the importance of have news related sources. It goes even further to say, which I can agree with, is that search engines are easier to access and easier to utilize for news. So this leaves us to the question, what is the point of political sites? Well the only answer I can give is that we need political sites for the simple reason of, public opinion via the internet. The other reason is that the need for it for further research for in depth explanation of certain subjects. Such as the Presidential Elections, the Middle East, Abortion, and so on. Therefore, without those sites we would not have really much to talk about, and many times the news sources take from these sites. So as much as there is no so much of a need for them on a everyday scale. They are based on what is the news buzz. Well, then again it all depends on the viewer or the user. In the end, choice is yours.
