Blog 1: Writing on the internet.

There’s a vast difference when it comes to writing on the Internet versus writing on printed mediums. Depending on what the targeted audiences are the content and writing styles will be adjusted to accommodate the readers. Generally, writing on the Internet has a much more relaxed style and tones. However, it is critical to have a good content in order to have returning users, because very often if the content does not grab the attention of the reader they can easily exit out the browser and search for a new article on Google.

According to Brian Clark, it is essential to correctly name your article because it will generate a faster search result for users to locate your article that might be of what they’re looking for. For instance, if you were attempting to sell a product, you would obviously want to include the name of the product on the title for faster search results on any search engine. It will benefit both the users and the seller itself. Therefore, it is vital to know which keywords to place in the title when it comes to naming. Here I have an example of a blog that I frequent on a daily basis (http://www.purseblog.com/). This is an excellent blog to follow if you were looking for the latest updates on designer handbags or anything related to this subject matter. The articles on this blog are informative and insightful. I appreciate that the bloggers on this site are not afraid of speaking their mind when they have disagreements with the fashion world. This blog has the latest updates of when the releases are for a certain style, type, as well as season and pricing. Information like these are critical when it comes to consumers.

Another blog that I follow which I believe host very good content is (http://www.wendyslookbook.com). This is another blogger which blogs about fashion and her personal style. She started blogging not too long ago and has already generated a very high number of followers. Reason being, she has informative content that grabs the user’s attention and interest. Wendy, the blogger, her writing style is relaxed and appropriate to viewers of all ages. Her images are direct and on the spot. Also, the fact that she’s comfortable sharing her life story with her viewers create a certain type of bond that will emotionally captivate the viewers’ heart. This allows the viewers to feel and relate to Wendy through her story and writing.

Moving forward, a website that I personally believe has bad content is (http://www.fast-weight-loss-tips.com/fast-weight-loss-tips/). Reason being, the information presented in this article are very general and common that most people are already equipped with today. An article like this one will be consider as a waste of time due to the lack of information.

Another article with poor writing I came across is (http://celebrity-gossip.net/nicole-kidman/nicole-kidman-keith-urbans-valentines-day-down-under-584542). This article is very vague and the title pretty much already summed up the story of Nicole Kidman and Keith. I personally find articles like these to be very tasteless and pointless because they’re supporting their reasoning with only a few snaps of casual photos. To sum this up, I believe that Internet writing has to have a certain voice and passion, the more successful bloggers are those that love what do they rather than doing it as a job. You write to express not to impress, is the impression I got out of this.
