Test Post!

Hey has anyone ever wonder why a building is called a "building" when it is already built? Or why do they call them "apartments" when they are all stuck together? Maybe why there is an expiration date on SOUR cream?

Sheerly hilarious. Totally random. Some of the reasons why I love surfing the Net.

Hello fellow peers and professor. My name is Perry Garrett. It truly is a pleasure to meet such interesting people such as yourselves in such an interesting course. As we all may be aware of, mainstream media has significantly been responsible for officially eradicating all hope for human development and intelligence of the 21st Century. But HOW!? Via press, magazines, and (our personal favorite) the INTERNET {Yay!!}. Society has transcended from the ranks of post-modernism to that of ultra post-modernism simply by the push of one capitalistic button. WHAT is the result!? Advertisements hosted on through the Internet objectify women and subject them to the male gaze. Countless death threats and trolls are instead are being cyber-spammed across the Atlantic and Pacific. Individuals publicly upload private and sensitive information via the net, which in turn opens the doors for information (and sexual) predators, unwanted government spooks tapping on your land lines, blah, blah, blah.

WHY is this critique and theory necessarily important? If society is granted access to generative (Internet-related) technology, then there is no telling what the outcome(s) may be (especially in reference to the aforementioned list). However, if we establish our society with pre-programmed technology that is regulated by one capital source, then we ultimately hinder social innovation and ideas for technological growth (a significant aspect for the 21st Century). WHERE do we start reformation? Well that question remains to be answered and is one of the very reasons why I am really interested in taking this course (to actually see where the Net takes us). So with that said....
